Last Monday, the DeQuincy Lady Tigers made the trip to northern Vernon Parish to take on the Anacoco Lady Indians in Non-District action. However, around this time next year both teams will face each other in District as Anacoco will be moving up from Class B to Class 2A. They will be joining the likes of DeQuincy, Rosepine, Pickering, East Beauregard, and Vinton in District 4-2A.
Both teams played extremely hard and at one point we’re deadlocked 4-4 until Anacoco produced a few quality hits in the fifth inning and took a four run lead, which is something the Lady Tigers just did not have an answer. The Lady Indians prevented DeQuincy from scoring any more runs after the fifth inning and ultimately defeating DeQuincy by a final score of 8-4.
Audi Flower was 2-4, Emily Cooley was 1-4 with an RBI, Onnie Remedies was 1-4, Addli Scott was 1-3 with an RBI, and Kayden Whotte was 2-3 with an RBI.
Anacoco 8, DeQuincy 4
