Linda Royer is known to many in this wonderful town as Ms. Linda or Mrs. Royer. But to Focus on the Family Ministries, she is known as the 2025 Whit Award Winner. Erin Windham nominated her for the award.
Each year, the ministry asks listeners to their weekly radio program, Adventures in Odyssey, to nominate a person that exemplifies characteristics of a godly, kind, and loving individual that invests in the people of their community. Of hundreds of nominations from across the United States, DeQuincy’s own Linda Royer received the award this past year.
Mrs. Royer and her adopted granddaughter, Erin Windham, hold a unique love for the radio program and both were thrilled by the choice award.
Windham said “Just take an expected four minute stroll with Grammy at Railroad Festival. It will quickly turn into twenty minutes as she gives time to current and former students from every walk of life to just to check in and hear how they are doing. She loves this community and its people with every fiber of her being and never has an award been more deserving.”
