Donald Raymond Savant was born Jan. 16, 1941, and passed away Saturday, Mar. 21, 2026, at the age of 85.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elisabeth Savant; son, Robert Savant; daughter, Patricia McNeill; grandchildren, Raymond Savant and wife Emily, Lacee Slayter and husband Will, and Megan Snuffer and husband Rocky; great-grandchildren, Wesley Savant, Cooper Slayter, Brelne Slayler, Reagan Snuffer, and Rachel Snuffer; brothers, Clifford Savant and Gene Savant; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Corrina Pfantz Savant; parents, Floyd and Anasita Savant; siblings, Floyd Savant, Lawrence Savant, Florence Chapman, and Patsy Savant; and niece, Priscilla Bergeron.
The family received friends Tuesday, Mar. 24, from 5-8 p.m., and will continue on Wednesday, Mar. 25, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in DeRidder. Rev. Laraine Waughtal will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in DeRidder.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
