Lorraine Mae McCaughey was born Apr. 23, 1936, and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2026, at the age of 89.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don McCaughey; children, Cass McCaughey and wife Regina, Brett McCaughey and wife Tammy, and Fara Cloud and husband Shannon; daughter-in-law, Amanda McCaughey; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Theresa Bonin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thor McCaughey; parents, Oliver and Martha Gaudet; sister, Juanita Powell; and nephew, Ronald Jean Caswell.
The family received friends on Saturday, Mar. 21, from 10 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at Vinton Methodist Church, 1102 Horridge St., Vinton. Pastor Matt Remai and Rev. Rob Tibbitts officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
