Bonnie Powell was born Aug. 14, 1943, and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 17, 2026, at the age of 82.
Bonnie is survived by her loving family: her sister, Norma Cooley Puckett; her son, Greg “Petie” Powell and his wife, Helena Powell; and her daughter, Carrie “Patie” Clark and her husband, Doug Clark.
She was a proud and devoted “MawMaw” to her grandchildren: Levi Powell and wife, Kelsea Powell; Kaysie Janclaes and husband, Chris Janclaes; Ashlei Thevenet and husband, Jacques Thevenet; Kaitlyn Armstrong and husband, Aaron Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
She was lovingly known as “Honey Bunny” to her great-grandchildren: Halen Thevenet (Moe Bandy), Gabriel Powell, Emmilynn Thevenet, Gunner “Buddy” Thevenet, and Baby Armstrong.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Mar. 20, and continued from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 21, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Mr. Kace Marcantel officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
