Christian Jordan “CJ” Buxton was born Oct. 20, 2000, and passed away Monday, Mar. 9, 2026, at the age of 25.
CJ graduated from DeQuincy High School in 2019. He was an avid aviation enthusiast, specifically Air Traffic Control. His greatest and proudest accomplishment in life was his son. He loved being a dad and being with his family. He enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking, gaming, soccer, and quiet time fishing. Anyone that knew CJ would say what a quiet, gentle soul he was.
He is survived by his significant other, Christina “Addie” Hiney; children, Briar Buxton and Koda Duhon; mother, Teri Buxton; sister, Tia Hambrick and husband Justin; niece, Madison Harrison; along with numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Cowan; his grandmother, Daphne Davis; his grandmother, Wanda Buxton; and grandparents, Virginia Adeline Porter and Chester Dwight Porter.
The family received friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., Sunday, Mar. 15, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Bro. Mike Streams officiated.
