Bats come alive against Sacred Heart

By Jake McCoy

In a game that seemed like a must win or as some folks call it a get right game, the DeQuincy Tigers flexed their muscle against the very tough and gritty Sacred Heart Trojans last Saturday in the South Beauregard Tournament.

DeQuincy would collect 10 quality hits and what was one of their toughest games of the season and it also helps when your ace pitcher Turner Rodriguez records 10 strikeouts and only allows three runs on the day so it’s safe to say the DeQuincy Tigers had a pretty good Saturday afternoon!

Noah Pettifield was 1-5 with an RBI, Turner Rodriguez was 2-3, Kahle Miller was 1-2 with an RBI, Bryce Dyson was 2-4 with an RBI, Jeremy Gatlin Jr. was 2-4 with 2 RBI’s, Tucker Goza was 1-3 with and RBI, and Ethan Faulk was 1-4.

Turner Rodriguez went the distance throwing all seven innings, and only allowing three hits and one run while recording 10 strikeouts!

DeQuincy 7, Sacred Heart 1
