Tigers hold off Lake Arthur

By Jake McCoy

It wasn’t pretty but it’s a win! The DeQuincy Tigers collected nine hits in their home opener last Thursday against the Lake Arthur Tigers en route to an 8-4 victory on a night, where they honored the life and legacy of John Pharris who invested countless hours and resources into the Tigers baseball program.

Despite a 6th inning rally by Lake Arthur, DeQuincy would score one more in the bottom half of that ending and hold off Lake Arthur to pick up their first win of the 2026 season.

Noah Pettifield was 2-2 with an RBI, Turner Rodriguez was 2-3, Bryce Dyson was 1-4 with 2 RBI’s, Kahle Miller was 2-4, Jeremy Gatlin Jr. was 1-4 with an RBI, and Ethan Faulk was 1-3.
