Tigers fall to St. Louis on opening day

By Jake McCoy

It was not the ideal way to start the 2026 regular season but the DeQuincy Tigers took one on the chin early at the hands of a very strong St. Louis Catholic Saints baseball team last Monday in Lake Charles by a final score of 8-0.

The Tigers were only able to produce one hit the entire night as the Saints’ strong pitching and defense kept the Tigers at bay.

It was certainly a learning curve for a very young Tiger squad but it’s good to play against much tougher competition early on in the season to see where your team stands.
