L.O.V.E. turns 14

L.O.V.E. Community Mission will celebrate 14 years on Sunday, Feb. 8.

The mission was organized Feb 8, 2012 and the proclamation date was May 16, 2015.

The 3rd Saturday in May is Older Americans Month.

Love Community Mission will continue to do what they can, when they can as long as they can through their main assignments: calls, local transport, yard cutting, senior awareness, handiwork at the discretion of the mission; sharing helpful resources, mailing occasional cards as needed, referrals and “giving” contributions to senior community programs and senior facilities that benefit our seniors!

The Mission is thankful to their donors to help them to keep “Giving.”

The Mission runs monthly birthday ads for recognition of “All Seniors” in the DeQuincy News classified ads every 1st Wednesday!

The mission supports: The Care Center of DeQuincy, Recreation Center for Senior Events, DeQuincy Community ACTS Foundation, High Hope Care Center, LIFT, Park Place, and Elderly Housing.

They are a behind the scenes operation.

DeQuincy is blessed to have these Senior facilities and programs.

God bless the Mission Family and the DeQuincy Community Family as well as the Calcasieu Council on Aging, referral partner Harry L Hooker, Sr. Memorial Fund.

The mission is a 501c3 and welcomes donations. Donations may be mailed to: LOVE Community Mission, P.O. Box 131, DeQuincy LA 70633.

Board members are: Rev. M. Durgan, advisor; Gwen Chapper, Darlene Hooker, Alice Danclar, Heather Crozier, Cathy Williams.

The mission would not thrive without the help of many volunteers.
