Jo Ann Franklin passed away surrounded by love and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Ann Wilcox and Joseph Calvin “JC” Wilcox; her sisters, Elaine Tate and Pam Wilcox; her brothers, Donovan Wilcox and Calvin Wilcox; and her sister-in-law, Delaine Bowman.
Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Ricky Franklin. She leaves behind her beloved son, Jamie Blume, and his wife, Stephanie.
Jo Ann’s greatest joy and proudest blessings were her grandchildren: Amanda and her husband, Roque, Chelsea and her husband, Dylan, and Zyla. She was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Liam and Lucas, who brought her immense happiness.
She is additionally survived by a nephew, Shane and his wife, Miranda; a niece, Shannon; and a great-niece, Myah, whom she lovingly referred to as her kids and held close to her heart.
She is also survived by her brother, Glenn Wilcox, and his wife, Karen; her mother-in-law, Ruby Franklin; her brothers-in-law, Marlin Franklin and his wife, Tammy, and Marty Franklin and his wife, Jan; and her sister-in-law, Danya Franklin and her husband, Derrick. Jo Ann also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Jo Ann will be remembered for her love for family, her strength, and the legacy of love she leaves behind in the lives of all who knew her.
The family received friends Saturday, Dec. 27, from 12 until the funeral service at 2 p.m., at The Family Church, 9456 Hwy 146 N., Liberty, Texas.
The family received friends Monday, Dec. 29, from 12 until the funeral service at 2 p.m., at New Hope Baptist Church, 3268 LA 877, Lake Providence. Interment follow at New Hope Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
