Daniel Rushing

Daniel “Fud” Scott Rushing was born June 14, 1977 and passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the age of 48.

Fud grew up in Hargoves and attended DeQuincy High School. He dedicated himself to Citgo for over twenty-five years, earning the position of Turnaround Manager. At the age of twenty-two he met the love of his life, Katrina, who had four children, taking them in as his own. He gave his whole heart to them and his family gave him theirs in return. Fud was a fighter and battled cancer for eight years. It was during this time that Fud’s faith in Jesus Christ became stronger. He was baptized at Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church where he became an active member and was always willing to serve however he could. Fud enjoyed hunting and cooking, especially making homemade jerky.

He is survived by his children Austin Lane Stains, Jessica Clark, Michael Clark, Devan Doyle and her husband Jared Doyle, and Austin Ryan Clark and his wife Emily Clark; his cherished grandchildren, Kayven Yellott, Romeigh Yellott, Mila Clark, Fallon Clark, Layla Clark, Landon Clark, Grace Stanley, Danni Doyle, Amelia Doyle, Julianna Doyle, Chloe Clark, and Isaac Clark; and his mother, Tammie “Googie” Stains.

He was preceded in death by his father Huey L. Rushing “Pinky”; and his grandparents, Ruth Rushing, Huey Rushing, James Stains and Dorthy Stains.

The family received friends Monday, Dec. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church, 2169 Smokey Cove Rd., Singer. Rev. Clyde Clark and Pastor Austin Clark officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
