Lillian Marie Simmons Viator, 76, of Sulphur passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025.
Mrs. Viator was born Oct. 24, 1949 in DeRidder and lived most of her life in Sulphur. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School where she was a Majorette. She worked at several retail stores. At the age of nineteen, she met her Prince Charming, a neighbor and friend whom she later married and for fifty-six years, lived a happily ever after. She found great joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a constant source of love and support and was their biggest cheerleader. Her younger years, she was a room mom for school parties, Blue Birds group leader and for countless functions, and recitals. She lived for her girls, a character trait the continued for generations as family travels began to be centered around her daughters and granddaughters dance competitions.
For many years, Mrs. Viator worked as secretary at her daughter’s dance studio, “Stefanis Front and Center” where she was everyone’s “Dance MeMaw”. Amongst her greatest joys was the opportunity to care for her grandchildren until they started school. She also enjoyed caring for children for family, friends and teachers she knew so that she was able to spend all of her time with her children and grandchildren when they were not in school. A lady of grace and faith, Mrs. Viator instilled in her family the importance of their relationship with Jesus. She will be most remembered as soft spoken and for her selflessness, always putting all others before herself, for her kind heart, joyful spirit and endless love and devotion to her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of fifty-six years, Kenneth Anthony Viator of Sulphur; two daughters, Stefani Viator Royer (Jonathan) and Brandi Viator Johnson, both of DeQuincy; six grandchildren, Lainey Royer, Carson Johnson, Landon Royer, Kyndal Johnson, Lawton Royer and Kenna Johnson; one great-granddaughter, Valynn Marie “V” Ashworth; sister, Brenda Akers of Sulphur; brother, Robert Simmons, JR (Tina) of Sulphur; brother-in-law, Gary Viator (Linda) of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Linda Walker Viator of Moss Bluff; many nieces, nephews and extended family and many dear friends.
