Disappointment and disgust are the two words to describe the looks on the faces of Tiger fans last Friday night as they exited B.S. Walker Memorial Stadium after losing to the Vinton Lions for the second straight week. But this time the Lions put an end to the Tigers season.
DeQuincy had a couple of turnovers in the first half that rendered their chances of putting any points on the board. However Vinton would take advantage of both turnovers, marching down the field and scoring as they would take a 14-0 lead going in the halftime. The second half was once again all Vinton. However the Tigers would move the ball in between the 20s, but failed to capitalize in the red zone on multiple occasions, which was the exact problem they faced last Friday in the district championship game against the Lions.
Regardless of the outcome, we want to congratulate the players and coaches on this season. We also want to give a shout out to our senior football players for their effort, blood, sweat, and tears that they poured into this program past four years.
Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger!
