Tigers shut out at Erath

By Jake McCoy

It was a tough night for the DeQuincy Tigers last Friday in Erath. DeQuincy got close to the endzone once early in the game but it was short lived as Erath’s defense denied the Tigers.

Erath would score early and often and their defense suffocated the Tigers’ offense. It was a very tough environment to say the least as it was Erath’s homecoming night and the stands were at full capacity on the home side. As well, the relentless Erath student section behind the south end zone truly made it a tough a place for any opposing team.

Despite the loss the Tigers did indeed play against a very good Erath Bobcat football team that will very likely win out going into the playoffs. So they will certainly help the Tigers will power points if they continue to win. Playing a tough team like Erath certainly helps prepare the Tigers for district play and the playoffs. Another good thing to take away from the tough loss is the fact that nobody was injured during the game!
