Melissa Ann “Missy” Shrope was born Mar. 5, 1969 and passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the age of 56.
Missy served as the Director of 911 in Beauregard Parish, where she was devoted to her work and community. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren. Her dedication and compassion touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Alexis Allen and husband Garett, Bryce Shrope, Sloan Shrope and Grayson Beatty; grandchildren, Kali, Kamryn, Kason, Bentley, Blaise, Diesel, Lyric and Melody; siblings, Dot Brown, and Jimmy Shrope and wife Dee Dee.
She was preceded in death her grandson, Remington Lane; and parents, J.O. and Diane Shrope.
The family will receive friends Saturday Sept. 20, at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Jason Hazelton and Rev. Lewis King will be officiating. Interment will be held at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
