Stella Mae Garsee, 98, of DeQuincy, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, July 30, 2025, surrounded by family at her residence.
She was born Apr. 18, 1927 in DeQuincy, the only child born to Wilburn “Bud” and Doris Martin. On Sept. 14, 1945 she married the love of her life, Conley Ross Garsee, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, as well as other cherished family members.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria and son-in-law Rev. Robert Brooks; her son, Martin Wayne and daughter-in-law Debra Garsee; grandchildren, Adana (Tracey) Robinson, Landon (Missy) Rigmaiden, Kristi (Jeff) Garner, and Kraig (Kristen) Garsee; great-grandchildren, Jordyn (Drew) Sexton, Delenn Robinson, August Garner, Ava Garner, Kash Garsee, and Kaden Garsee; and great-great-grandson, Conley Sexton. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. Burial was at 9 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 3, at McFatter Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
