Teresa Diane Pound, 66, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 3, 2005 in the evening, surrounded by love.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Rev. James Pound, affectionately known to her as “Jimmy.” Teresa’s love for him was constant and unmistakable—his name was often her favorite word, whether calling for his help, sharing a laugh, or enlisting him for her grandchildren’s next surprise.
She is also survived by her children, Angela Garland and husband Douglas, and Bryan Pound and wife Stephanie; her cherished grandchildren, Ian Garland, Matthew Garland, Lauryn Garland, and Adelina Pound; her sister, Kari Price and husband Marvin; her mother-in-law, Janet Pound; and her brother-in-law, Jonathan Pound and wife Lisa. She also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Eugene and Etta Geraldine Autry Mills; and her father-in-law, James W. Pound.
The family received friends from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at Gospel Tabernacle, 7880 Washington Blvd, Beaumont, Texas. A prayer service was held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 9, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment follow ed at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
