DeQuincy track competed in state meet
On Friday, May 9, the DeQuincy Tigers Boys Track teams traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the LHSAA Class 2A State Meet on the campus of LSU.
The Tigers’ 4×200 relay team would place 6th in the event.
M.J. Clark placed 8th in the 110 meter hurdles and 9th in the 300 meter hurdles.
We want to congratulate the DHS track team on a successful season!

South Beau’s season ends at Erath
On Saturday, May 10, the South Beauregard Golden Knights traveled down to Erath to take on the Bobcats in a Division III Non-Select Semifinal best of three series.
Unfortunately Erath would take both games by an identical score of 3-2.
In game one, Luke Fontenot was 1-3 with an RBI, Christian Wold was 1-3, and Jed Henry was 1-1 with an RBI.
Christian Wold pitched 6 innings and recorded 3 strikeouts.
In game two, Jed Henry was 2-5, Luke Fontenot was 1-3, Christian Wold was 1-3, Cy Barrow was 2-3 with an RBI, Kade Jackson was 2-3, and Noah Fontenot was 1-3 with an RBI.
Clayton Folks pitched 4.2 innings and recorded 6 strikeouts, Noah Fontenot pitched 2.1 innings and recorded 2 strikeouts.

Starks track team results from state meet told
In Girls track:
Sadie Barrow placed 2nd in the 200 meter and 3rd in the 100 meter.
Tayla Holloway placed 3rd in the high jump.
In Boys track:
Cole Doucet placed 1st in high jump.
Dwayne Weaver, Ben Crisp, Nate Gore, and Kaison Howard placed 1st in the 4×200!
We want to congratulate all of these hardworking young men and women on their accomplishments!

Ten Starks Lady Panthers earn all-district honors
Ten Stark Lady Panthers earn honors on the All-District 5-C Softball list.
First team are as follows: Sadie Barrow, Sarah Barrow, Tayla Holloway, Madelyn Nolen, Kynzlie Smith, Cheyenne Hartwell, and Brylie Smith.
Honorable mention: Kynslee Stinson, and Raegan Howard.
District MVP is Madelyn Nolen and District Coach of the Year is Wendy Gillet.
