Gary Kelly Alston was born Dec. 31, 1959, and passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at the age of 65.
He is survived by his sisters, Janie Hollie and husband Ronald, and Kathy Buxton and husband Terry; nieces and nephews, Dedra Nixon and husband Mark, Ronald Hollie Jr. and wife Deedra, Heath Hollie and wife Dana, Stephen Irwin and wife Tiffany, William Irwin and wife Chrissy, and Eric Irwin and wife Rhonda; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kelly Alston, Mary Edna VanWinkle Alston, and Mary Jo Turner; and brothers, Terry Sullivan and Roger Turner.
The family received friends from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, May 4, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Carlton Jackson Jr. officiated. Interment followed at Newlin Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
