Mary “Midge” Smith was born Feb. 12, 1947, and passed away Thursday, Apr. 10, 2025, at the age of 78.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Tracey Lynn Smith and wife Marci and Samuel “Sammy” Frans Smith and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Jordan Smith, Seth Smith, Abigail Smith, and Luke Smith; sister, Rita Faye Peterson; and her aunt, Kathleen Chambers (The Fav).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Smith; parents, Frans and Mittie Peterson; brother, Freddy Joe Peterson; sisters, Billie Frans Richey and Edla Anna Cole.
Pallbearers were Jamey Kendall, Jeff Richey, Matthew Peterson, Aaron Smith, Jordan Smith, Seth Smith, and Luke Smith.
The family received friends from 4 – 8 p.m., Sunday, Apr. 13, with the funeral service being held at 10 a.m., Monday, Apr. 14, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Tracey Smith officiated. Interment followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
