Tigers run rule East Beauregard

On Tuesday Mar. 11, the DeQuincy Tigers opened up District 4-2A action on the road at East Beauregard.

The Tigers’ bats were hot as Big Red collected a season high 18 hits as DeQuincy rolled over East Beauregard.

Diron Valentine was excellent on the mound pitching 4.2 innings only allowing 2 hits and recording 6 strikeouts, Grant Rainwater closed and recorded 1 strikeout.

Carson Rainwater went 1-4 with an RBI, Diron Valentine went 3-3 with 3 RBIs, Nolan Schrader went 3-4 with 2 RBIs, Andrew Dowden went 3-4 with 3 RBIs, Turner Rodriguez went 2-4 with an RBI, Noah Pettifield went 1-2 with an RBI, Rahley Royer went 2-3 with an RBI, and Grant Rainwater went 3-4 with an RBI.

Tigers Roar Past Rosepine

Last Thursday Mar. 13, the DeQuincy Tigers hosted the Rosepine Eagles in District 4-2A action.

The Eagles would get on the board first in the 3rd inning and then add another run in the top of the 4th.

However in the bottom half of the 4th the Tigers would take the lead thanks to a couple of base hits and an error on Rosepine. The Eagles would tie things up in the 6th. The Tigers quickly answered by scoring 6 runs including the last 3 coming off the bat of Andrew Dowden. He hit an absolute missile over the left field wall to put the dagger on the Eagles as DeQuincy beat Rosepine for the first time since 2021.

Carson Rainwater was fantastic on the mound only allowing 3 hits on the night and striking out 5 batters. Turner Rodriguez closed in the last inning.

Carson Rainwater went 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Diron Valentine went 2-3 with an RBI, Nolan Schrader went 1-3, Andrew Dowden went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Turner Rodriguez went 1-4, and Hayz Hext went 1-1 with an RBI.

Tigers Run Rule LCCP

Last Friday Mar. 14, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to Longville to play in the South Beauregard tournament against the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers.

The Tigers scored early and often as the Trailblazers never could keep up with the Tigers’ red hot bats.

Turner Rodriguez was excellent on the mound going 3 innings not allowing a single hit and recording 5 strikeouts. Grant Rainwater closed for the Tigers and was also fantastic only allowing 1 hit.

The Tigers collected 16 hits in the game.

Tigers Dominate

Last Saturday, Mar. 15, the DeQuincy Tigers played the Glenmora Wildcats at the South Beauregard Tournament.

The Tigers’ bats were once again on fire as they collected 13 hits on the day ultimately winning the game in run rule fashion after 6 innings.

Diron Valentine pitched 4 innings and recorded 5 strikeouts. Turner Rodriguez closed pitching 2 innings and recorded 3 strikeouts.

Carson Rainwater was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Diron Valentine was 2-4 with an RBI, Nolan Schrader was 1-3 with an RBI, Andrew Dowden was 2-4 with an RBI, Turner Rodriguez was 1-3 with 3 RBIs, Rahley Royer was 1-4 with 2 RBIs, Grant Rainwater was 2-4 with 3 RBIs, and Hayz Hext was 2-4 with an RBI.
