Michael “Mike” Joseph Denham was born Dec. 5, 1946, and passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at the age of 78.
Michael proudly served his country in the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired as an Engineer. Michael was a Hospital Chaplin, as well as a member of the American Legend. Michael loved to travel and to just simply enjoy life.
He is survived by his nephew, Joey Robinson and (Beverly Dartez); nieces, Donna Binford and Misty Denham; great nieces and nephews, Josee Robinson, Jay Robinson, Denham Robinson, Maya Rodriguez and Egil Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Joseph Jr. and Francis Moxom; siblings, James “Jimmy” and Mary Gayle; and great nephew Josh Sonnier.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. Father Luis Tigga, H.G.N. officiated. Interment followed at Rigmaiden Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
