George “G. W.” Hyatt, Sr. was born Apr. 29, 1953, and passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at the age of 71. G. W. enjoyed singing, BBQs, and family gathering. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Billy Hyatt, George Hyatt Jr and wife Tina, Louann Decker and husband James, and Charles Jacob Hyatt and wife Kristie; grandchildren, Samantha Brown, Brian Hyatt, Jacob Hyatt, Kyle Hyatt, Alex Paugh and wife Sarah, Jeff Hyatt, Brooklyn Hyatt, Dylan Decker, Brandon Hyatt, Haleigh Hyatt, Jazmyn Hyatt, Clayton Chaney, and Bret Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Amira, Tyren, Wrynlee, Ryver, Remie, Bennett, Nova, Angelle, Gary, Emperance, Raizlyn, Jaxson, Josie, and Rollen; mother of his children, Dolores Navarro; siblings, Emmy Hydle and husband Robert, Charles Rogers and wife Carla, Robert Rogers, and Ida Mae Dunham and husband Bobby; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Debra Hyatt; parents, George Hyatt and Mary Rogers; and siblings, Jessie Rogers, Leona Sharbino, Silisten Dunham, Barbara Biddle.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, the funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams be officiated. Interment followed at Oretta Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St, DeQuincy.
