Harold Bennett

Harold “Pandy” Bennett was born Dec. 15, 1944, and passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at the age of 79. Pandy proudly served his country in the United States Army, including during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He enjoyed riding around, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed front porch sitting and watching all the westerns on the Grit channel. Pandy had a big heart and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Bennett and wife Victoria; stepchildren, Deanne Hemperley and husband Derek, and Larry Bennett and wife Joyce; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Bessie Haley; brother, Sambo Bennett and wife Sharon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Bennett; parents, Pete and Ethel Bennett; sister, Doris Harrington; and brother, Bubba Bennett.

The family received friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Hargrove Bible Baptist Church in DeQuincy. Bro. Vance Perkins and Rev. Jordan Doyle officiated. Interment followed at Oretta Cemetery. in Singer.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
