Jacob Knight Goodfriend was born Sept. 17, 2002, and passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at the age of 21.
Jacob always made a lasting impression on every person he met. He had friends everywhere and was loved by so many. He loved to goof off and have fun no matter who he was with. Jacob graduated from DeQuincy High School in 2021 and was involved with the football and baseball teams. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and hunting. If he found a pond, he was going fishing. If he could have made a living out of just fishing, he would have. His dream was to become a dad. He displayed that by showing his love while playing with his nephew, Kason; and his best buds, Aubree and Jax. Jacob will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. With his kind, loving, and comical character, he truly left an impact on everyone he met.
He is survived by his mother, Jana Brown (Chad); father, Copeland Goodfriend (Stephanie); siblings, Christian Rainwater (Cortni), Khori Goodfriend, Andi Goodfriend; step siblings, Nicole Dozart (Dylan), Leah Howard (Carter), Lauren Perkins (Jaxsyn Hext), Shelby Perkins, and Sheldon Perkins (Kaylee); nephew, Kason Rainwater; niece, Emma Jo Rainwater; grandparents, Janie Hyatt, Keith and Kathy Hyatt, Dan and Juanice Brown, and Alisha and Elton Clark; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and friends pages of paper could not hold.
He was preceded in death by his grandparent, Andrew Goodfriend; great-grandparents, Johnny and Peggah Jacobs, Eldon and Shelma Welch, and Horace and Rella Hyatt; and his friend, Wesley Roebuck.
Pallbearers were Rayden Rosalis, Colby Pharis, Traive Gautreaux, Gunnar Gearen, Mason Moore, Tyler Durbin, Cooper Hext, Aaron Hyatt, Cainen Doyle, Colton Stains, and Gabe Johnston.
