Cynthia Kinney was born Apr. 4, 1953, and passed away Monday, Mar. 18, 2024, at the age of 70. She was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher at Choupique Baptist Church. Cynthia was a dedicated Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner for many years. Above all, she loved her family, friends, and church family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles Kinney; sons, Chris Kinney and wife Sheila, Tim Kinney and wife Rachael; grandchildren, Morgan Kinney, Jacob Kinney, Zachary Kinney, and Lauren Kinney; brother, Calvin Castille and wife Winona; sisters, Liz Leblanc and husband Charlie, Itasca Broussard and husband Dan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Wood and Mary Castille; father and mother-in-law, Emmett and Sadie Kinney; and brother-in-law, Phillip Kinney.
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until time of the celebration of life at 3 p.m. Saturday Mar. 23, at Choupique Baptist Church, 7106 Choupique Rd, Sulphur. Pastor J.P. Miles officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
