DeQuincy vs. South Beauregard
The DeQuincy Tigers fought back after falling down by five runs in the seventh inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 5-3 defeat to South Beauregard on Tuesday.
DeQuincy Tigers scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Quentin Pharris and a single by Turner Rodriquez.
DeQuincy couldn’t keep up with South Beauregard early in the game. South Beauregard scored on an error in the first inning.
In the first inning, South Beauregard got their offense started. An error scored two runs for South Beauregard.
DeQuincy Tigers notched three runs in the seventh inning. DeQuincy Tigers’s big bats in the inning were led by a single by Rodriquez and a double by Pharris.
Jace Duhon took the win for South Beauregard. The hurler lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out nine.
Sammy Maddox took the loss for DeQuincy Tigers. The righty allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four.
Rodriquez, Reese Ashworth, Pharris, and Andrew Dowden all had one hit to lead DeQuincy.
South Beauregard racked up eight hits in the game. Layden Sepulvado and Cy Barrow each managed two hits for South Beauregard.
DeQuincy vs. South Avoyelles Charter
DeQuincy watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-5 loss to Avoyelles Charter on Thursday.
After Avoyelles Charter scored two runs in the top of the third, DeQuincy answered with two of their own.
DeQuincy then answered when an error scored one run for DeQuincy and Quentin Pharris’s sac fly scored one run for the Tigers.
Avoyelles Charter pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.
Rainwater took the loss for DeQuincy. The righthander lasted five innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out ten and walking one.
Caden Keel, Sammy Maddox, Reese Ashworth, Keagan Carter, and Andrew Dowden all had one hit to lead DeQuincy Tigers.
Avoyelles Charter had seven hits in the game.
DeQuincy vs. Bunkie
The DeQuincy Tigers had everything working on Saturday, winning big over Bunkie 9-1.
Bunkie got things moving in the first inning, when Chandler Moreau grounded out, scoring one run.
DeQuincy scored four runs in the second inning. Sammy Maddox, Carson Rainwater, and Quentin Pharris each had RBIs in the big inning.
Reese Ashworth led the Tigers to victory on the mound. Ashworth lasted six innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out eight and walking one. Turner Rodriquez threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Maddox led the Tigers with two hits in three at bats.
DeQuincy tore up the base paths. Pharris led the way with two steals.
DeQuincy vs. Pine Prairie
The DeQuincy Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-3 loss to Pine Prairie on Saturday. Pine Prairie took the lead on a single in the first inning.
The DeQuincy Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pine Prairie, giving up ten runs.
Sammy Maddox took the loss for the Tigers. Maddox lasted three innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out two and walking one.
DeQuincy tallied one home run on the day. Reese Ashworth went yard in the seventh inning.
Ashworth led DeQuincy with two hits in four at bats. DeQuincy was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ashworth made the most plays with four.
