Nelvie D. Eldemire was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Starks and passed away Tuesday, Mar. 31, 2026, in Lake Charles at the age of 88. She was a resident of Starks, formerly of Hackberry. She lived for 40 years on Little Cayman Island, BWI.
She is survived by her siblings, Elaine D. Kingrey, Linda Faye Anderson and husband Chuck, Joyce Louise Doiron LeDoux, and Gerald Wayne Doiron; her special “younguns” that she called her children, Glen and Connie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Bruce Eldemire; parents, Vie Nettie Bass Doiron and Madison Simon Doiron; and brothers, Charles David Doiron, John Luther “JL” Doiron, and James Ray Doiron.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., Saturday, Apr. 4, at First Pentecostal Church in Starks. Pastor Karl Smith officiated. Interment followed at Doyle Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
