Calvin Royer

Calvin T. Royer was born May 13, 1945, and passed away Monday, Mar. 30, 2026, at the age of 80.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Over the years, he served his church in many ways, including as a men’s prayer leader and in charge of sound for services. He was known for his faithfulness, wisdom, and honesty, and he lived a life that reflected his deep commitment to God and to others. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his servant’s heart, and the quiet strength of his character.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna Manuel Royer; children, Belinda Johnson and husband Mike, Roxanne Neal and husband Keith, Paul Royer and wife Tonya, and Jeffery Royer and wife Jana; grandchildren, Sean, Nick, Haley, Hunter, Shelby, Jon, Baylee, Maddie, Jude, and Loren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eunice Royer; and siblings, Hollie Royer, J. R. Royer, Danita Royer, Delores Willis, Betty Royer, and Ezora Callaway.

The family received friends from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m., Monday, Apr. 6, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith St., DeQuincy. A prayer service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Apr. 7, at First United Pentecostal Church. Interment followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
