Last week the Starks Panthers and Singer Hornets continued their rivalry on the baseball diamond. As expected, neither team could complete the sweep as both the Panthers and the Hornets split in District 5-C action with Singer taking an 8-7 victory on Tuesday Mar. 24, and Starks shutting out Singer 10-0.
On Tuesday Mar. 24, the Starks Panthers traveled up Highway 109 to face Singer and it was a good on as both teams defense played extremely well but in the end, the Singer Hornets held on to a one run victory over their arch rival.
For Singer, Kohlson Moore was 1-2, Jasper Stephens was 2-4, Kyler Arndt was 1-1 with an RBI, and Rowdy Lorenz was 1-2 with an RBI.
Jasper Stephens went the distance in all 7 innings striking out 9 batters.
For Starks, Cody Harrison was 1-4, Kaison Howard was 1-4, Braden Holloway was 2-4 with 2 RBIs, Austin Daniels was 1-3 with an RBI, and Corban Hantz was 2-4.
Cody Harrison pitched 4 innings and only gave up one hit and recorded 7 strikeouts, Nate Gore pitched 2.2 innings and only gave up 1 hit while recording 7 strikeouts.
