Matthew Ashley Davis was born Feb. 8, 1993 and passed away Sunday, Mar. 15, 2026, at the age of 33.
He is survived by his wife, Shamicheal Davis of Houston, Texas; children, Kanen Davis, Messiah Davis, Matthew Engram, Kylie Davis, Milo Davis, Omega Davis, Kalia Davis, Matthew Davis Jr.; siblings, John Jackson Jr., Ashton Spikes, Joyce Collins (Jami Sr.), and Alexsis Spikes (Alonzo Sr.); parents, Harriet Davis Broussard (Germaine), and Ashley Spikes (Lema); nieces and nephews, Jami Collins Jr, Jersey Collins, A’Meyah Hall, Jacen Collins, A’morra Hall, Ashton Spikes Jr. (Jessica Alexander), Koby Alexander, A’Brielle Hall; he was loved by all cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Agnes and Felton Davis of DeQuincy, Joyce Miller of Lake Charles, Caston Malone of Lake Charles, and his nephew, Alonzo Hall Jr. of Lafayette.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, Mar. 21, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 202 Evergreen Baptist Lane, DeQuincy. Pastor James Harris officiated. Interment followed at Community Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
