Julio Martinez, III

Julio “Bubba” Martinez, III, beloved son, brother, and light to all who knew him, was born on Nov. 5, 2021, and passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at the tender age of 4. Though his time on earth was far too short, Bubba filled every moment with joy and spirit that touched countless hearts.

Known affectionately as “Bubba with the praying hands,” he carried a sweetness and sincerity that made him unforgettable. He adored Spider-Man and Cars. Bubba loved his family deeply, especially his big sisters, who were his heroes and his best friends.

He had a side-eye that could make anyone laugh, a personality that shined brighter than his years, and a presence that made people feel instantly connected to him. Bubba was cherished by everyone fortunate enough to meet him, and his memory will continue to live on in the stories, smiles, and love he leaves behind. He will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be Bubba.

Bubba is survived by his parents, Kimberly Rocha and Julio Martinez Jr; sisters, Juliette Grace Martinez and Alianna Marie Martinez; grandparents, Maria Rocha, Homer Rocha, Julio Matinez Sr and wife Mayra Guttierrez, and Maria Martinez; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a loving community.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 30, from 1 p.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 2 p.m., at Riley Smith & Sons-DeQuincy in DeQuincy. Bro. Mike Streams will be officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the service in the Smith Hall at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W Fourth St., DeQuincy.
