Dustin Spears was born Sept. 14, 1982, and passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at the age of 43.
Dustin was a funny, caring, and lovable person whose personality brought laughter and comfort to everyone around him. He was hardworking and took pride in doing his best, while never losing his sense of humor. He enjoyed life’s everyday pleasures, including online shopping, watching trash TV, gaming, and going out for brunch. These simple joys brought him happiness and plenty of stories to share. Above all else, his greatest joy was being a father. He loved his family deeply, and his devotion to them was evident in everything he did. Dustin will be remembered for his big heart, playful spirit, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
He is survived by his son, Knox Spears; mother, Diana Spears; fiancé, Lillie Clark; siblings, Justin Spears and wife Damarias, Ryan Spears and wife Keya, and Taylor Martin and husband Dustin; and nieces and nephews, Tatum, Tanner, Camila, Layton, Sofia, Logan, Hudson, Russell, and Everlee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Gene Spears; and grandparents, Downs and Wanda Buxton, Margaret Holley, and Joseph Spears.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Funeral service were held 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, at The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Rev. Dustyn Rose, Rev. Mike Streams, and Rev. Wayne Neyland officiated. Interment followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
