?CITY OF DEQUINCY
ORDINANCE NO. 1000
THE CITY Council of the City of DeQuincy, State of Louisiana, met in regular session on the 8th day of December 2025 and adopted the following Ordinance to authorize the City of DeQuincy to utilize either Calcasieu Parish or the City of DeQuincy Inspector for inspection services.
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy is required by law to provide inspection services for building, electrical, plumbing, and other related construction activities within its municipal limits; and
WHEREAS, the City of DeQuincy may choose to conduct such inspections through its own personnel or to utilize the inspection services provided by Calcasieu Parish; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council desire to establish flexibility in determining which entity—Calcasieu Parish or the City of DeQuincy—will conduct such inspections as deemed most efficient and beneficial to the citizens of DeQuincy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of DeQuincy, Louisiana, that:
1.Authority Granted.
The City of DeQuincy is hereby authorized to utilize either (a) the inspection services provided by Calcasieu Parish, or (b) inspection services conducted by the inspector for City of DeQuincy, at the discretion of the Mayor and City Council.
2.Agreements Authorized.
The Mayor is authorized to enter into any necessary intergovernmental or cooperative agreements with Calcasieu Parish or to employ/assign City personnel as needed to implement inspection services.
3.Administration.
The Mayor, or their designee, shall oversee the coordination and execution of inspection services under this ordinance.
Be it further ordained that all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed and replaced.
Said Ordinance having been introduced on the 10th day of November 2025, a notice of Public Hearing having been published on the 3rd day of December 2025, said Public Hearing having been held on the 8th day of December 2025, with the title having been read and Ordinance considered, on motion by _________, seconded by _________ to adopt the Ordinance. A record vote was taken, and the following result was had:
