Cynthia Ann “Nana” Granger, 72, of Vinton passed away after a short battle with cancer on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025. She was born in Orange, Texas on Aug. 29, 1953.
She was a lifelong resident of Vinton and graduated from Vinton High School in 1971. Cindy retired from W.R. Grace in 2006. She was also a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Nana enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren that she called her angels. Some of her hobbies included traveling, crocheting, reading, and shopping with her “angels”.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Van Granger (Cara) of Vinton, and Philip Granger of Vinton; grandchildren Crysta Taylor (Noah) of Campti, Maci Granger of Lake Charles, and Calli Granger, Brinley Granger, and Logan Granger of Vinton, and Lily Granger of Sulphur; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Simon (Ray) of Hamshire, Texas, and Linda Beth Keeling of Vinton; aunt, Lillie Belle Fontenot of Vinton; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Granger; her father, Bud Granger; and brother-in-law, Evans Courville.
The family received friends from 9 until the time of the service at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 22, at Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton. Pastor Rob Tibbitts officiated.
Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Nunally, Joey Dalfrey, Logan Granger, Hudson Dalfrey, Hunter Cormier, Matt Nichols, Dusty Benoit, and John Nunally.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Maureen Brown for her compassion and care given to Cindy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
