Jerry L. Cooley was born July 27, 1956 and passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at the age of 69.
Jerry was loving, hardworking and a friendly man who never shied away from speaking his mind. His hardheaded spirit, paired with his big heart, made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Cooley; children, Paul Parker and wife LeAnne, Brandon Marcantel and wife Kay, and Jason Cooley and wife Trisha; grandchildren, Blaine, Troy, Kade, Jade, Richard, Colton, Caleb, Hunter, Leo, Brently, Jameson, and Anakin; great-granddaughter, Jocelyn; sisters, Regina Jackson and Alicia Thompson; and brother, Glyn Cooley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ouida Cooley; sister, Patricia Cooley; and brothers, Reggie Cooley and Brandon Cooley.
The family received friends from 3-8 p.m., Monday Dec. 1, with a funeral service being held at 11 a.m., Tuesday Dec. 2, at The First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy, 230 Smith St. Interment followed at Newlin Cemetery in Singer. Pastor Carlton Jackson Jr. and Rev. Brad Johnson officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
