Helen Garrett was born Nov. 8, 1959 and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at the age of 66.
Helen enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and spending time outdoors. She also loved camping, crawfish boils, and being with her family. These were the things that brought her the most happiness. She will be missed by everyone who knows her.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Garrett; children, Shannon Doise and fiancé Alyssa, and Carolyn Meche and husband Billy Joe; grandchildren, Justin McKinney and wife Andee, Chelsey Spell and husband Justin, Ashley Duhe, Haley Sanders and husband David, Chavez Doise, Helen Doise, J.J. Meche, Brittany Breaux, Carley Breaux, and Justice Meche; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Tommy Lisotta and wife Joyce, Johnny Lisotta and wife Barbra, Margaret Landry and husband Mark, Frances Majors, Ellanor Gautreaux, and Mary Wix; along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Breaux; parents, Michael and Conception Lisotta; brothers, Luke Lisotta, Tony Lisotta, and Robert Lisotta; sisters, Carolyn Lovett and Theresa Stodder.
The family received friends Saturday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., at Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
