Gladys Hollie was born Dec. 3, 1935 and passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at the age of 89.
Gladys was a spectacular woman whose quiet strength and boundless love touched everyone she met.
She was a gentle soul with a firm hand and a heart full of care. She found joy in preparing meals that brought her family together. She loved to be out by the water where she was the best at fishing. Gladys loved her grandchildren more than anything. Her legacy is one of love, patience and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Hollie and wife Sissy, Larry Hollie and wife Melonie, Steve Hollie, Becky Charney and husband David, and Sandra Robison and husband Buddy; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Frank Holden, Cecil Holden and wife Sue, and Sylvia Carnley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Hollie; parents, Eunice and Maylon Holden; and siblings, Bennie Carroll Holden, Douglas Holden, and Florence Holden.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 10, with the funeral service being held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams officiated.
Interment followed in Hollie Family Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
