On a spooky and smoke filled Halloween sky last Friday night, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to southern Vernon Parish to take on their district rival Rosepine Eagles who came into the game winless on the season. However, the Tigers we’re not fooled by the 0-8 record as they knew that the Eagles would throw the kitchen sink at the Tigers in order to get their first victory of the season. Despite the Eagles giving the Tigers some trouble in the first half, Big Red stood tall and made adjustments to pull away from the stubborn Rosepine Eagles and picked up their fourth win of the season. The score certainly does not indicate just how bad it really should’ve been as the Tigers had a couple of mistakes,. Nonetheless a 15 point victory isn’t anything to complain about.
This win also marks the Tigers’ first victory on Rosepine’s field since 1999 which is shocking to many who have followed the Tigers for years!
Altogether, it was a great team and community victory!
