Joseph Craig Fontenot, known as Craig to his friends and family, was born on May 5, 1959 and passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born in Kinder and lived out his life in Edgerly.
Craig was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful member of Full Life Assembly. Craig loved spending time with his family. His hobbies were fishing and boiling crawfish. If you knew Craig you knew he had a nickname for everyone. Craig will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Dianne Gale Fontenot; children, Phillip Fontenot and wife Kassy of Sulphur, Naomi Fontenot and fiance Brady of Moss Bluff; honorary daughter, Ziggy of Sulphur; grandchildren, Desire’e and husband David, Zach, Jesse, Dakota, Serenity and husband Patrick, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Eden; great-grandchildren, eight and one on the way; siblings, Carol Thompson and husband Mike and Bryan Fontenot and wife Pauline.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Odis and June Fontenot; and sister, Lisa Ann Domingue.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, at Riley Smith & Sons in DeQuincy. The visitation continued Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m., until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., at Full Life Assembly, 1249 Plum St., DeQuincy. Interment followed at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
