Frances “Fran” Broussard Hill, 70, of Longville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Dr. F. H. and Mona Broussard on Oct. 21, 1954 in Lake Charles. She worked as a science teacher with various school districts before retiring. She made an impact on her students and many remember her classroom as a place of discovery. Fran devoted her life to education and spent many years inspiring students through her love of science. Through her passion, Fran not only taught science but inspired countless students to follow in her footsteps and become educators themselves.
After retirement, Fran shared a lifetime of adventure with her husband. Together they traveled the country working at campgrounds, exploring new places, and meeting people who quickly became friends. They loved cruising and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation, from the mountains to the ocean.
She is survived by her husband, Noel Hill; daughter, Megan Martin (Will) of Longville; stepdaughter, Angie Caccamo of Denham Springs; stepson, Chris Hill (Samantha) of Denham Springs; two sisters, Laura Beth Kimball (Tom) and Leigh Jacobs (Morgan) both of DeQuincy; along with her grandchildren, Ian, Gabriella and Tristan Martin, Justin and Bailey Hill, and Jonathan and Casey Caccamo; along with several nieces and nephew; great niece and nephews; and a great grandson.
A Celebration of Fran’s life will be held at Crosspoint Community Church (formerly DeQuincy Methodist Church) in DeQuincy on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m., with Rev. James Barrett officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
