Hiram “Mike” Richardson was born Jan. 1, 1954 and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at the age of 71.
Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army for six years. He was a stubborn soul in the best way, strong-willed, determined and always standing up for what he believed in. But above all, he was giving, caring and would do anything for anyone. Mike loved woodworking and tinkering. He also loved to cook for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and selfless generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Richardson; children, Brian Richardson and Michelle Rodriguez and husband John; grandchildren, Rian Richardson, Ayden Richardson, Seth Sims, Audrey Sims, Isabelle Rodriguez, and Julian Rodriguez; siblings, Jane Fountain, Steve Richardson, and Kathy Guevera; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nellie Richardson; and brother, Tommy Richardson.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 13, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams will be officiating.
