Wilburn Pinder

Wilburn “Wimpy” Pinder, 90, a resident of DeQuincy passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025. Wimpy retired from Firestone as a pipe fitter. He volunteered at the Community Outreach Center in DeQuincy, and he looked forward to the time he spent there each week. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Belinda Pinder Cox, Terry Pinder Bertrand, both of DeQuincy, and James Jeffery “Jeff” Pinder and wife, Donna of Jasper, Texas along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond Keith Pinder of Anchorage, Alaska and sister-in-law, Carolyn Corbello of Groves, Texas

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dever Pinder and Lorena Guillory Pinder, wife, Omega Frances Pinder, sons-in law, Adrian D. Cox, Jr. and Timothy Arnold Bertrand and grandson, Stephen Christopher Cox, two brothers and one sister.

The family received friends Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. Pastor Roland Hebert officiated. Visitation and funeral was held at New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy and burial followed at the Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
