Elton “Mutt” Clark was born Dec. 26, 1944 and passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, at the age of 80.
A devoted family member and cherished grandparent. Elton was someone who loved the simple things in life — watching football, cooking for loved ones and spending time with family. Nothing made him happier than being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Alissha Clark; children, Elton Clark and wife Kristi, Copeland Goodfriend, and Angela Goodfriend; nephew, Allie Ray Clark; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vesper and Bertie Clark; and children, Denzel Clark, Daniel Rainwater and Melissa Clark; grandson, Jacob Goodfriend and granddaughter, Amanda Kay Clark; sister, Elsie Faye Burnett and brother, Lloyd Clark Sr.
The family will receive friends from 2 until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy. Rev. Clyde Clark will be officiating.
