Last Friday, the DeQuincy Tigers traveled to face the Lake Arthur Tigers in non district action. Lake Arthur would score first but had a hard time moving the ball after that. The DeQuincy defense made crucial stop and even forced a couple of fumbles. Lake Arthur did score again right before halftime going into the locker room with a 12-0 lead. Lake Arthur scored again in the 3rd quarter but DeQuincy quickly responded with a touchdown drive of their own to cut into Lake Arthur’s lead. Unfortunately DeQuincy didn’t have many sustainable drives which made a big difference in the game. Lake Arthur put the final dagger in this one extending their lead to 27-6. However DeQuincy never quit as they would find the endzone again to make it a 27-12 game which was the final score.
DeQuincy’s defense showed improvement from the previous week. The offense did as well but like most teams there’s still work to be done as we continue on through the young season.
