Bradley “Brad” Lanier was born Feb. 2, 1985, and passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at the age of 40.
Brad was a lifelong resident of DeQuincy. He spent his adult life with a career in the oil field where he met many friends that he became so close with. He was an avid sports fan; he made it known that he had a passionate love for the Dallas Cowboys. Brad was a man of style. You would always find him clean cut, sharply dressed, and with the aroma of his favorite cologne.
He is survived by his son, Jaylon Broussard of Orange; brother, David Nolen of Lake Charles; sister, Heather Chaisson of DeQuincy; mother, Pattie Swilley of DeQuincy; nieces, Alyssa Weaver of DeQuincy and Veronica Parker of DeQuincy; nephew, Jacob Chaisson of Metairie; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Morgan Swilley Jr.; and grandparents, Earl and Flossie Matthews and Clarence Swilley Sr.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Mike Streams will be officiating. Interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
