Acadian Ambulance recently donated a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department.
Acadian Southwest Louisiana Operations Supervisor Carl Gautreaux and Paramedic Field Supervisor Cody White presented the AED to Fire Chief Johnny Copeland, who began his service with the department in 1994 and has served as fire chief for the past 17 years.
The addition of the AED provides the volunteer department with another life-saving tool to respond quickly in emergencies. Having the device on hand means faster care for community members who suffer cardiac arrest, when every second is critical.
“I truly enjoy serving with the DeQuincy Fire Dept.,” said Chief Copeland. “Over the years, I’ve seen many people come and go, and I’m proud to have several dedicated team members who’ve been with me for a long time. This AED will help us continue protecting our community and providing the best possible care in times of need.”
Acadian Ambulance has proudly served the DeQuincy community since 1998 and continues its commitment to supporting local first responders and ensuring communities have the tools they need to save lives.
