DeQuincy High School is calling all former cheerleaders to return to the field for a spirited evening of nostalgia, camaraderie, and school pride.
The DHS Cheer Alumni Reunion is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 26, during the DHS vs. Lakeview football game.
The reunion promises a lively pre-game gathering from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the track, where alumni can mix, mingle, and enjoy snacks and refreshments provided by the current DHS Cheerleaders. The highlight of the evening will be a halftime performance of the DHS Fight Song, where alumni will take the field once again to cheer on their beloved Tigers. Participants are asked to meet on the track by the gate with three minutes left in the second quarter to prepare for the performance.
To join the celebration, alumni must register online through the Facebook group or by contacting Baily Whatley and pay a $30 participation fee. Registration closes on Friday, Sept. 5, and alumni are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot. Practice will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the DeQuincy Middle School gym. This session will focus on field placement, ripple assignments, and t-shirt distribution. Poms will be available for purchase for $10 – cash only.
Alumni are asked to wear black bottoms and tennis shoes for the performance. Admission to the game is free for registered alumni wearing their reunion shirt, while family and friends will need to purchase tickets.
