Abraham Abdalla

Abraham “Abe” Abdalla was born Sept. 24, 1936, and passed away Aug. 24, 2025, at the age of 88.

Abe was a wonderful husband and father, a faithful and committed Christian, and a staunch supporter of church and community. He spent his working career at Citgo as a maintenance supervisor after serving in the United States Army. Ultimately, though, he was a landman at heart and could tell you the township, range, and section of any piece of property in Calcasieu, Beauregard, Jeff Davis, or Allen Parish whether you needed to know it or not. He owned various rental properties and enjoyed spending his spare time being his own maintenance man. He loved sipping on black coffee and eating a cup of ice cream, and he loved being with his grandchildren. His favorite thing to say to them was “Let’s head to the dollar store and stimulate the economy.” We will miss his laugh, his contagious enthusiasm, his wisdom, and his steadfast love.

He is survived by his children, Jonathan Abdalla and wife Melissa, David Abdalla and wife Gloria, and Daniel Abdalla and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren, Devin Abdalla, Brendan Abdalla and wife Whitney, Keaton Abdalla, Dillon Abdalla, Callan Abdalla, Thomas Abdalla, Amelia Abdalla, Emory Abdalla, and Schuyler Abdalla; great grandchildren, Stevie, Beckham, and Amelia; daughter-in-law, Kathy Abdalla; nephew, Rick Langford; niece, Rhonda Self and husband Don, and their children, Kayli and Cullen.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Linn Abdalla; parents, Fred Abdalla and Evelyn Crawford Abdalla; siblings, Jerry Abdalla and Sadie Abdalla; father-in-law, Tom Robinson; mother-in-law, Mattie Royer Robinson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Imogene and Allen Spears, and Evelyn and Richard Langford.

Family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at The Pentecostal Church, DeQuincy. A private family service will be held Saturday with the interment at Rigmaiden Cemetery, DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
